How Asheville area patients can use Invisalign to improve their smile

Traditional orthodontics often comes with a negative stigma. Many patients are turned off by the concept of metal brackets being glued to the teeth and metal wires holding them all together. Though conventional orthodontics are often very effective in addressing moderate to severe misalignment, many teenagers and adults in the Asheville area are seeking alternatives available to improve their smiles. This is what makes Invisalign orthodontics extremely popular with patients of the Asheville Smile Center.

Dr. Christopher Port often suggests Invisalign to patients who want to improve their smiles without metal brackets and wires covering their teeth. Conventional braces can take many months—even years—to address malocclusion or bite issues, and are often less desirable. However, Invisalign works differently.

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that focuses on providing a more discreet method of improvement. Instead of using brackets and wires, which pull teeth into their new position with force, Invisalign works by using clear aligner trays. These trays are custom-fabricated for patients. Each tray snaps over the dental arch and it is worn day and night to gently push teeth into better alignment. Invisalign aligners are worn for two weeks before the next tray is used, providing optimum results, typically faster than traditional braces.

Dr. Christopher Port is committed to helping his patients in the Asheville area rejuvenate their smiles without the need for conventional braces. Invisalign works differently but provides amazing results for those who want to rejuvenate their smile without brackets and wires. Invisalign is best for patients with healthy smiles who would like to address mild to moderate misalignment of the teeth or bite. Severe cases may require traditional orthodontics. During an initial consultation appointment, patients can determine if their smile would benefit from Invisalign treatment.

If you live in or around the Asheville area, and you have considered orthodontics, now is the time to research options such as Invisalign. Contact Dr. Christopher Port and the professional team at the Asheville Smile Center today and learn about the ways in which Invisalign can improve smiles without brackets and wires!
