Benefits of Invisalign

How Arden area patients can achieve straight teeth with Invisalign

In the past, obtaining a more attractive smile with straight teeth used to be achieved with traditional orthodontics. Orthodontia required the use of metal brackets and wires, which covered the smile for many months to improve the alignment of the teeth. Many teenagers and adults are turned off by the concept of conventional metal bracket and wire braces and they want alternative solutions to help them improve their appearance. This is when Arden area patients may ask Dr. Christopher Port about improving the smile with Invisalign.

Invisalign is an innovative method of realigning the teeth and bite without the use of brackets and wires. In fact, there is no metal involved at all! Invisalign is made of clear plastic and snaps into place over the dental arch. These trays are fabricated specifically for each patient to ensure a precise fit. Invisalign aligners achieve the same results as conventional braces for mild to moderate misalignment of the teeth or bite. However, some cases of misalignment may benefit more from conventional braces.

During a consultation visit with Dr. Christopher Port, patients can learn about how Invisalign works. Gentle force is used to move teeth into better positions, which can improve one’s oral health, appearance, and the function of the smile. Invisalign does require patients to be compliant with treatment, as the trays are removable. Patients are required to wear their trays day and night, only removing them for eating or caring for their smile before snapping them back into place over the dental arch. When patients receive their trays, the doctor will discuss with them how to keep them clean, how long to wear them, and what to expect over the course of treatment.

Invisalign is a wonderful, highly desired method of correcting the smile when malocclusion occurs. Dr. Christopher Port and the team of the Asheville Smile Center work closely with teenagers and adults who want to rejuvenate their smile and improve their oral health with better aligned teeth. Contact his practice today to book a consultation visit and initial evaluation to find out if Invisalign can address problems within your smile!

I had a wonderful experience at Asheville Smile Center! I was very nervous about the amount of work needed and the potential cost. The staff were all very friendly, offering fresh baked cookies, aromatherapy and massage chairs! Dr. Hernandez was very thorough and was very to talk to. It was just an awesome visit!
