Using porcelain veneers for covering the fronts of teeth for Hendersonville area patients
Enhancing the appearance of the smile may feel like an expensive and daunting task. However, cosmetic dentistry continues to become more affordable for those interested in rejuvenating their smile. When imperfections such as permanent staining, gaps, and fractures affect the way the smile looks, it can be addressed in a myriad of ways. Dr. Christopher Port and the team of the Family Dental Health of South Asheville can assist patients in and around the community, including the Hendersonville area. The solution may include placement of porcelain veneers.
Porcelain veneers can help disguise a wide variety of common aesthetic issues. They are typically utilized in situations where the following problems exist:
- Misalignment
- Breakage
- Gaps between teeth
- Permanent staining
- Short teeth
Dr. Christopher Port of the Family Dental Health of South Asheville can evaluate one’s smile and determine if porcelain veneers are the best way to address cosmetic concerns. Using some of the best quality porcelain, we can develop a facing that is bonded in place over the front of a tooth and ensure appropriate coverage. Our porcelain veneers are so beautiful that they blend in seamlessly with the existing teeth and can dramatically enhance the natural smile!
Porcelain veneers require a few appointments for placement. The first appointment is the consultation. Dr. Christopher Port and his team will determine if patients are suited for this restorative treatment and if it will address their aesthetic concerns. Once it has been decided, preparations will be done to the front of the teeth. This requires removal of a thin layer of enamel to ensure proper fit. Special materials are used to create molds of the teeth. These molds are sent to a ceramist who will use them to fabricate the veneers for the front of the teeth. Once completed, typically within one to two weeks, the veneers are sent to the dental office and patients return to have them bonded in place. Once this is done, patients will have a fully rejuvenated smile they can show off to the rest of the world!
