Six Month Smiles

Asheville area dentist can perform the same work as an orthodontist with Six Month Smiles

Men and women in the Asheville area who are interested in addressing misaligned teeth often believe that the only way to achieve a better smile is by visiting a specialist such as an orthodontist. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth! With today’s breakthroughs in cosmetic dentistry, traditional dentists such as Dr. Christopher Port of the Asheville Smile Center can now achieve similar results with a treatment commonly known as Six Month Smiles.

Six Month Smiles is an alternative to more traditional metal bracket and wire braces. Dr. Christopher Port and the team of the Asheville Smile Center can determine if patients are appropriate candidates for this type of treatment. Patients with mild to moderate misalignment of the front teeth may benefit greatly from Six Month Smiles in achieving a more beautiful smile quickly and affordably.

Dr. Christopher Port describes Six Month Smiles as “clear braces.” The brackets are plastic and clear, while the wires used to realign the teeth are tooth-colored. This allows treatment to be more discreet while still providing amazing results. While some patients who visit a traditional orthodontist may be dealing with years of orthodontic work to correct their smile, patients with Six Month Smiles can achieve alignment in just a few months in comparison.

Determining candidacy starts with a physical examination and x-rays to check the alignment of the smile and what needs to be done to achieve improvement. Some patients with more severe cases of malocclusion, or misalignment of the bite, may be better suited for treatments offered by a traditional orthodontist. This can be determined during the initial evaluation at the Asheville Smile Center.

Patients who are interested in learning about Six Month Smiles and how it can help Asheville area patients achieve a more beautiful smile are welcome to contact the team of the Asheville Smile Center to book a consultation appointment with our staff. We can make recommendations based on the needs of the patient, and may also recommend alternative solutions such as composite resin bonding or porcelain veneers depending upon the patient’s situation.

Call the Asheville Smile Center today to schedule your first appointment with Dr. Christopher Port and his team of dedicated professionals ready to help you in creating the smile of your dreams!
