Arden, NC area dentist describes the benefits of Six Months Smiles
By Dr. Christopher Port
A quick online search reveals a world of products and Do It Yourself or at-home techniques that claim to reposition crooked and crowded teeth, sometimes within a few weeks. The adage of If it sounds too good to be true, it probably applies here. While there are no healthy and safe shortcuts to straight teeth and a dramatically improved smile, there are convenient and effective alternatives to time-consuming, cumbersome, and obvious looking traditional braces. Six Month Smiles Braces in Arden NC at the Asheville Smile Center straighten the teeth of patients in at least half of the time, on average, of conventional braces.
About Six Month Smiles®
In the skilled hands of Dr. Port, Six Month Smiles straightens quickly and predictably due to its unique design; treatment combines well-established orthodontic science and mechanics (used for 100-plus years!) with advanced materials and approaches. The benefits of this hybrid approach are many, not limited to an attractive appearance while you straighten your teeth, thanks to discreet tooth-colored wires and clear brackets that blend in with the rest of your smile.
Moreover, the proprietary Lucid Lok™ brackets and wires are engineered in such a way that they have a specific prescription and properties unique to short-term orthodontic cases. Each tooth is accurately measured for correct bracket placement, and each bracket is carefully positioned so that optimum and fast straightening can be achieved. Since each tooth has its own bracket, this design also allows Dr. Port to make fine adjustments quickly and precisely. Additionally, as a short-term option, Six Month Smiles® focuses on the teeth that are visible when you smile.
Patients with more mild cases of crowding and gaps can also benefit from invisible aligner trays. The treatment timeline of around six months remains the same. But the difference is in how the devices that facilitate tooth movement are engineered; Six Month Smiles® braces are fixed to the teeth, whereas aligners slip over the teeth and can be removed for cleaning and eating. Your dentist will provide a series of aligners and instructions on how to wear them, to ensure the compliance that allows treatment to remain on track and within around six months! There is even a mixed appliance therapy option that prescribes clear aligner trays for the upper arch or jaw and Six Month Smiles® unique braces for the lower arch or jaw.
Today’s orthodontic treatments finally recognize just how unique each patient is and fit effortlessly into busy lifestyles and packed schedules. In fact, simple adjustments are only required once every four weeks or so, and you’ll forget you’re wearing an orthodontic appliance after a very brief adjustment period (within around two days after the braces are placed).
You belong here. And, moreover, you deserve a hassle-free, affordable, and efficient way to revamp your smile and self-confidence. Call (828) 585-4049 to schedule your appointment at Asheville Smile Center in Arden NC.
