Dental team in Arden explains the cost factors of CEREC crowns

The Family Dental Health of South Asheville team in Arden believes in providing patients with choices. When protecting teeth that are decayed or damaged, we offer various types of crowns. Gold and metal alloy crowns may be ideal for the teeth in the back of the mouth, whereas porcelain crowns or CEREC (Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic) crowns can restore beauty to the front teeth. We understand cost is a primary factor when choosing a treatment. Patients are assured our professional staff will work with them to attain the dental care they need within their budgets. In addition to working with various insurance companies, we offer financing options.

CEREC crowns are created by utilizing CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology. They may be a more economical choice because crowns are created and placed in a single appointment. For crown treatment, there is some minimal tooth preparation to ensure the restoration will fit nicely. Then, we take a digital impression of the mouth, which is used to create a 3-D image of the crown. We can show a patient how the restoration will look before the data is transferred to a milling machine. We will then place a block of ceramic in the machine. Ceramic is strong, durable, versatile, and natural looking. Once the restoration is completed, we will ensure precise color and fit before permanent placement.

Crowns are “caps” placed on teeth that are worn, cracked, or decayed. With excellent care, crowns can last many years. Therefore, it is critical to brush at least twice a day, floss before bedtime, and maintain biannual dental check-ups for cleanings and examinations. At these appointments, we will check the functionality of the crowns.

Do you want to have a tooth restored in a single appointment with a CEREC crown? Schedule a consultation with one of our dentists by calling today. We will determine your candidacy for CEREC crowns and tailor a treatment plan to meet your needs.
