Tired of Living with Crooked Teeth? Transform Your Smile with Invisalign

Modern cosmetic dental treatments can make your dream smile a reality. This means you no longer have to put up with misaligned, uneven, or crooked teeth. At Family Dental Health of South Asheville, Arden, North Carolina, we make teeth straightening and bite correction easy through Invisalign treatment. If you’re tired of living with crooked teeth, contact Dr. Christopher Port from Family Dental Health of South Asheville to learn more about the transformative properties of Invisalign treatment.

How Invisalign Works to Straighten Crooked Teeth

If you’re put off by the thought of wearing unsightly metal braces for several years to straighten your teeth, Invisalign clear aligners could be the orthodontic treatment for you. A visit to Family Dental Health of South Asheville in Arden, North Carolina, will determine if you’re a good candidate for this procedure. Dr. Christopher Port will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to verify your oral health and get a clearer picture of the problems that need to be fixed. We’ll then customize a treatment plan to meet your dental care needs.

Unlike braces, which use metal brackets and wires to straighten teeth, Invisalign uses clear aligners to shift teeth into a straighter position gradually. These aligners are custom-made for each patient after taking impressions of their teeth. This ensures you get a comfortable, snug fit. Invisalign clear aligners are almost invisible to make them less noticeable and discreet. For optimal results, you’ll need to wear the aligners at least 22 hours a day, taking them off only to eat and brush your teeth.

Invisalign can be used for underbite, crossbite, and overbite correction, and to fix misaligned, uneven, and crooked teeth. Dr. Port will give you a new set of aligners every two weeks to continue the process until your treatment is complete. Depending on the problems that need fixing, your treatment may last anywhere between 6 and 18 months.

Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces

Although traditional braces are an effective orthodontic treatment, they’re not very convenient, especially for a teen or adult who’s self-conscious about their appearance. In contrast, Invisalign clear aligners are:

  • Hardly noticeable, so you can straighten your teeth discreetly
  • More comfortable as they contain no wires or brackets to poke your gums and teeth
  • Removable for eating and brushing your teeth; this lets you enjoy your meals and helps you maintain good oral hygiene during your treatment
  • Less invasive and pain-free
  • Effective in giving you a beautiful smile that’s straight and even
