Asheville, NC dental practice offers various family dentistry services

At Family Dental Health of South Asheville, we know there a several reasons your family may need to see the dentist. Our dentists, Drs. Christopher Port and Michael Hernandez, are highly sought after for their gentle and compassionate care. Whether your teenager knocked out a tooth while playing sports or you desire a more beautiful smile, we can meet you and your family’s individual needs. Our family dentistry services in our Asheville, NC office range from tooth loss replacements to cosmetic treatments.

Treating a knocked out tooth

If your teenager knocks out a tooth it is important to encourage him or her to remain calm. If there is bleeding, we recommend placing gauze on the affected tooth for 10 minutes or until the bleeding stops. For any swelling, place an ice pack on the lip or cheek near the affected tooth. If you can, gently place the tooth in its socket. If that is too difficult, place the tooth in a container of milk and bring it with you to your teenager’s appointment. We will promptly see your teenager and discuss the best treatment for replacing the tooth. Our tooth loss replacement treatments include bridges, which can be natural looking enhancements to the smile.

Going after a more radiant smile

Whether you are a mother or a father, it may be time to enhance your smile. Depending on your needs and lifestyle, we offer several teeth whitening options. Our in-office procedure involves safeguarding the face, gums, and lips before placing a whitening gel on the teeth. After about an hour, you can walk away with a brighter smile. If you prefer to whiten your teeth at home, we can make impressions of your dental arches. These molds are used to create customized whitening trays that are paired with bleaching gel as well as instructions for brightening the smile at home. In a couple of weeks, you can embrace beautiful, long lasting results. The third option is a brush that you use to “paint” gel onto your teeth daily after brushing to help you achieve pearly whites.

Our team is committed to keeping you and your family’s smiles healthy and beautiful. To explore all of our services, schedule a consultation by calling today.
